Suly’s HOME ORGANIZATION PROJECT – MIAMI, FL

THE PROBLEM

 

This family of 4 had not been able to use their spare room for yearrrrs. She was unable to scrapbook because she could not access her tools and regardless, had no space to craft. This spare room had to be converted to suit many different purposes.

 

The family needed a functional storage space, small office, comfortable space for the kids, and area for crafting. We were happy to repurpose as much as possible and spent less than $400 on materials. The most amazing part is that we created empty space so the family has room to grow. It’s always my goal to accomplish this because you need some space for new items to come in…. without creating clutter.

 

THE SOLUTION

 

Mindful of my client’s budget, we re-purposed as much as possible. This doesn’t produce the most picture perfect finished product. HOWEVER, we never sacrificed functionality and organization. We implemented bins, shelving, and other storage solutions when it made sense and was necessary.

 

In the end, we organized my client’s spare room to function exactly how they envisioned!

Did you know there was a Futon underneath that clutter? After our transformation, the family can relax on their Futon and it doubles as a guest room when need be. One of the drawers below is used to store gift wrapping and the other is now empty. We also cleared the decorative shelves above so the family could showcase their collectibles. Additional 16-inch shelving was installed above to store infrequently used seasonal items.

Phase 2

My client had forgotten what was inside the large white cabinet. She had not been able to access it in a very long time. There was also a printer and scanner, on the shelf to the left, that could not be accessed without climbing over the clutter on the floor. After we transformed the room, the printer and scanner could be easily accessed and we designated an office supply area directly above. Additional 16-inch shelving was installed above to store infrequently used seasonal items.

We CLEARED this countertop by storing everything away neatly inside the cabinets. My client now has space to craft, her kids have a place to do homework, and her husband can use this as an office. Additional 16-inch shelving was installed above to store infrequently used seasonal items.
